Debbie and I went to Morocco.
We spent five days in Marrakesh. A sprawling, twisty, narrow-streeted city. Amazing, hard and fun. I have been in many cities around the world and this was one of the most kinetic. People, bikes, mopeds and donkeys, and occasional cars, although they really don’t fit in. The most amazing experience was in the contrasts. From crazy narrow streets full of shops, buskers, food, and vendors to serene courtyard apartments. We experienced Marrakesh first, upon landing. The first four days were a huge acclimation period. It really wasn’t until we got back from the mountains and the desert that we settled into the city. We knew what to expect by then, how to navigate, and what we wanted to see.
