Days …

Our past year on a sailboat acclimated us to spending a lot of time in one place. On a boat there is weather, repairs, tides and current, and family visits keeping us in one spot for extended periods of time. We learned to find the zen in it all. It has definitely influenced how we travel now. That and that we don’t have anywhere else to be.

Either this has made us lazy or has made us better travelers. With the luxury of time, we are learning how to really discover – and maybe understand – a place.

Therefore, we have a strategy. If we find one thing, one event, one store, one restaurant, one coffee shop, it will lead us somewhere else. We will discover so much more.

That said, I have no idea where I’ve been in the last couple of days. We saw an amazing retrospective of the architect Sou Fujimoto, small spaces for jazz, the most amazing book store, ice cream (everywhere), and cocktails.

I hope these are photographs reflect our discoveries.
