Sailing in the British Virgin Islands

For our big trip this year, we bareboat chartered a 34-foot Beneteau for 13 days. That’s 13 wonderful days and nights on the water. After sailing on Lake Michigan with 3rd Coast Cruising for almost two seasons, working in the boatyard, and crewing on a few private charters, we felt we were up for the challenge. We knew there would be challenging moments, but they proved to be few. The sailing was good, the weather great, even when it rained, and the people wonderful.

Here is a selection of the best shots from the trip, in no particular order. Debbie and I were very busy so I found less time to focus on the shots and used a one fixed 35mm automatic lens. As expected, there are a lot of sunsets, sunrises, dramatic horizons and sandy beaches. But really, what more could you want? It’s snowing in Chicago.

We did try to chronicle highlights of the trip as went along which you can find here: https://set-a-course.com/
